Sleep is essential for fast recovery and top performance, yet as many as 80% of elite athletes report that they struggle with sleep during their competitive season. Even when athletes get enough sleep, they often don’t know if their sleep is helping them or holding them back.
The lifestyle, training, and travel demands of elite athletes make it hard to get adequate sleep. Sleep dysfunction is also very common in this population. Unresolved sleep issues result in insufficient recovery which affects performance and increases the risk of injury.
In our private practice, we work with individual athletes to improve sleep and optimize recovery.
We conduct comprehensive sleep health assessments to identify when and why an athlete is not getting optimum, restorative sleep. We develop an actionable list of changes that will lead to improvements in sleep quality.
In some cases, we deliver a clinical intervention. We also coordinate the delivery and/or implementation of multiple interventions as needed.
